Government delivers revitalization of Prq. Morro do Diabo and Nursery in the Prudente region.

 On the occasion, an investment of R$ 27.6 million was also announced in Education and the contracting of a public notice for works by the Lucy Montoro Institute.

Governor João Doria inaugurated this Friday (4th) the new facilities of the Morro do Diabo State Park, in Teodoro Sampaio, with renovation and modernization of buildings. On the occasion, Doria also announced the delivery of new units of the Creche Escola Program to Teodoro Sampaio, Rancharia and Presidente Venceslau.

During a visit to Presidente Prudente, resources from the State of São Paulo Integrated Action Plan (Painsp), by the Education Department, were authorized for 15 municipalities and a public notice was issued for contracting works by the Lucy Montoro Institute. The resources destined for the cities of the region exceed R$ 55 million.“We will continue to make more investments and improvements in this park to ensure not only environmental development, but also environmental tourism, which brings opportunities for employment, income and knowledge. Who knows nature, respects and protects. Whoever defends nature, defends life”, said the Governor.

The Morro do Diabo Park is protected by the Forest Foundation and is home to a remnant of the Atlantic Forest in the region, in addition to endangered animals. The works at the site included renovation of buildings, revitalization of the visitor center, accommodation, hostels, playground and museum, modernization of barbecue spaces and support for camping/motorhome activities.

The park also received a new lighting system that expanded the use of areas during the night period, in addition to completing the Barreiro da Anta Suspended Trail, one of the main tourist attractions that will also help research in the area. In total, R$ 6 million were invested from the Environmental Compensation Chamber.

The measure is part of the Pontal do Paranapanema development program, Pontal 2030, launched in January 2021 by the Regional Development Secretariat with the aim of leveraging the development of the region through the expansion of infrastructure and support services to the production chain.
